On April 29, 2025 (local time), Prime Minister Ishiba visited Manila, the Republic of the Philippines.
After holding a meeting with second-generation Nikkei-jin, the Prime Minister visited Rizal Park and laid a wreath. The Prime Minister then attended a welcome ceremony and signed the guestbook at the Malacañan Palace, followed by a summit meeting with H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, which included a small group meeting and a plenary meeting, and a joint press occasion. Lastly, Prime Minister Ishiba attended a dinner with President Marcos and Madam Louise Araneta–Marcos, First Lady of the Philippines.
